Costs for colleges are seeing double digit increases nearly each year. This is stretching our children and their families further into debt to pay for their post secondary education. Each community needs to have specialized professionals and many times that requires a 4 year degree and more! Just this year with the budget deficits our state colleges will be taking large losses from their state funding sources. We must continue to ensure that our graduating seniors have access to and the ability to pay for college.

Purpose- The purpose of the scholarship committee is to create scholarships for college bound seniors from Klickitat County who have an entrepreneurial interest and who are involved in their community.

Goals-  Ensuring that our seniors have access to college is a paramount duty of the community. The committee is driven to increase the number of awards given and the amount of the awards. This takes time and effort but the committee members are dedicated to seeing our students receive the education they need.

Duties- Create and maintain Scholarship Applications, Send applications out to each High School in the county, review and select scholarship recipients, create and maintain a plan to increase the scholarship fund, manage the scholarship fund wisely, work with the finance and membership committees to increase the scholarship fund balance.

Scholarship Plan- The plan is currently being written. Join the committee today to have a part in the planning process

Recent Successes- 
    Craig was appointed as the interim Committee Chairman at the May 3rd meeting and will begin workin on a scholarhship application and getting a scholarhship out the door by the end of this schoolyear.
