The Mentor Committe is committed to educating our young adults. We are currently writing our mentor program which will serve as a conduit for our young adults. State laws prohibit our youth from learning a trade/profession and gaining valuable work ethics. We are committed to our youth and this mentor program will couple young adults in our community with our member businesses so that they may add to their resume and learn a trade. Youth who are involved in the Mentor program shall recieve no pay for their involvemnt from either the KCYLA or the member businesses.
All operating costs for the mentor committee come out of the
Mentor Fund.
Purpose- To ensure that our youth are learning a trade/profession and to teach them a sense of work ethic.
Goals- The first goal of the committee is to write the mentor program. Its still early enough for you to be a part of this exciting program. While we are creating the program we are seeking out the best liability insurance for our program. We have to protect our member businesses and the program from any claims or lawsuits. We hate having to spend money on insurance when we could be using it to give out scholarships but we are committed to our member businesses and their protection.
Duties- Create & maintain the mentor program, insurance blanket liabitity insurance, parental release form creation and record keeping, Creating partners such as; local schools, businesses, retirees, governmental agencies, Law & Justice organizations, and other community organizations
